Very well done to 2003-born Jamie Forrest (completely new name to me) who qualified, won a match and now put out the 10th seed, with only the loss of 2 games.
Pleased for him because he played qualis last week - his first ever ITF match - and lost 15-13 in the MTB, which must have hurt.

Armenia, G5:

R2 (L32):

(q) Jamie FORREST (GBR) 6-0 6-2 Victor PAGANETTI (FRA) [10]

Haruki OMORI COWIE (GBR) [12] 7-6(4) 6-3 Iakov ROMANOVICH (RUS)

Haruki+ is also into the QFs of the doubles, having beaten Jamie+.

Nice win for Max, too, over the 3rd seed.

Germany, G5:

R3 (L16):

Max BASING (GBR) [15] 6-2 3-6 6-2 Mathias MUSIL (CZE) [3]

Kristina P is also into the QFs of the doubles.

Not quite the right place* to put this (doesn't fit anywhere) but Diane Parry (FRA) has received the USO reciprocal WC.

*decided here because it was announced this week.

And why not???

It certainly shows what a MD Grand Slam wildcard can do.

Diane, born the same year as Emma, had an excellent Roland Garros - (MD win and two doubles wins). And have been doing very well since - beat a top 250 player etc.

And she too has had important exams this summer - she's doing the Bac Scientifique (top-level, proper Bac, not one of the 'easy' versions) and had her first round of Bac exams this summer (in French and a couple of other subjects), before her really serious ones next year.
