Girls: 2019 Wimbledon (Week 28)

Daria deserved the win against Alexa but that's about all you can say I think.

It was a match of two players with abominable styles for what should be one of the best junior matches of the year!
Daria plays like a post mini-green player but is very consistent with it and Alexa just has an awful style that's only effective as the other juniors haven't worked it out yet.
I'll not reference Alexa's attitude on court but I'm glad she's nothing to do with me!

Both players will have a natural ceiling of achievement unless they disassemble their current styles and rebuild them into something a bit more positive.

There were so many other players in that event that have a whole load more potential for the future including several GB players!

After Anton beats one Roehampton champion today can Erin beat another tomorrow? It is an even more daunting task, as the Ukrainian was also a semifinalist at the Australian Open, and has a 29-8 record so far in WTA/ITFs having won 25K and 15K events

R1 (L64)

(WC) Sonay Kartal d. Annerly Poulos (AUS) 7-6(1) 7-6(3)
(Q) Martyna Kubka (POL) d. (WC) Emma Raducanu 0-6 6-1 7-5
(Q) Polina Kudermetova (RUS) d. (WC) Amarni Banks 6-1 6-0
(WC) Erin Richardson d. Kristyna Lavickova (CZE) 6-2 6-7(5) 6-1
Mai Napatt Nirundorn (THA) d. (WC) Holly Fischer 7-5 4-6 6-1
Ane Mintegi Del Olmo (ESP) d. (WC) Victoria Allen 6-3 6-3
(WC) Matilda Mutavdzic d. (7) Sada Nahimana (BDI) 6-3 3-6 6-3
Linda Fruhvirtova (CZE) d. (WC) Destinee Martins 6-4 5-7 6-1

R2

(WC) Sonay Kartal v (Q) Katrina Scott (USA)
Daria Snigur (UKR) v (WC) Erin Richardson
(WC) Matilda Mutavdzic v Daria Frayman (RUS)

So Emma loses in the first round of junior Wimbly.

And two years later is in the final of the US Open.

You've got to love tennis biggrin
