Gabi drops the first set 4-6. At least after a struggle she holds at the start of the second set.

Her ball toss is way too wide. Apart from the DFs robs her of power too. Once she is actually in a rally she can hold her own.

More of a sense of purpose to Gabi in this set with much fewer DFs and dropped rackets. In the rallies she is tending to dominate. Up 4-1*

Sigh. For much of that second set Gabi looked the better player. But she still managed to lose her serve serving for the set at *5-3, got into the TB, but was then never ahead in it, making too many errors again, something she had reduced earlier in the set. Lost 4-66-7(5) but she was not outclassed and should definitely have taken the match to a third set. no

Crazy, 0-5 to 5-5. If she does go on to lose this set, she'd probably rather have lost it 2 or 1. I'd imagine it would feel a bit of a kick in the teeth.
