So pleased for Sam - what a run she is having here - when you include the LTA play offs, that is five wins on the spin in her attempt to qualify for Wimbledon. I don't know what the odds are, but she must have some chance tomorrow - shame once again that it isn't televised. I'll also be interested in who wins the Rus v Bonaventure match - I didn't get to watch it live and have just watched my Red Button recording - I didn't think that much of Bonaventure and was a bit surprised at how many major players she has beaten recently.

Cori Gauff ('04) - mentioned before - outstanding
Marta Kostyuk ('02) - stellar - excellent
Whitney Osuigwe ('02) - rather disappointing - like last time I saw her - maybe grass isn't her thing
Liang ('00) - wonderful free, relaxed arm.
Xiyu Wang ('01) - very interesting, different style - liked it
Olga Danilovic ('01) - so thin - great serve
Destanee Aiva ('00) - room for improvement
Claire Liu ('00) - not much to get excited about.
Anne Li ('00) - even less

(didn't see much of Cate McNally, '01, or any of Juvan)

Thanks for the link DWH about Sam - very interesting and it also made me realise that I have been lucky enough to be courtside and watch both her previous appearances here and remember both matches very well.

Yes indeed. Further proof that the LTA's infatuation with youth is misguided. Players like Sam, Tara and Emily are regularly ignored for wild cards. Older players continue playing because they want to rather than because their parents want them to play.

Sam has held to 0, 15, 0, whereas Badosa held twice to 40, and Sam had BPs in at least one of those, but it is the Spaniard who has broken first and will now try and serve for the first set. 3-5*

Just checked and Sam had 3 BPs in each of those games, so is 0/6, whereas that was Badosa's first BP.
