The Roehampton Grade 1 has been a staple of the Junior calendar for many years, but this year a second Wimbledon warm-up tournament has been added. Although there are plenty of players here heading for Wimbledon, the dearth of players ranked outside the top 100 has given opportunities for a number of lower ranked Brits to play a Grade 1, either via qualifying or wild cards. It also means there are a few all British encounters, unusually at this grade.

Interesting. Lui was down to play his first British tour event at his home club West Worthing this week. I suppose he can do both if its an early exit?

I don't know if the rules allow it (they don't allow anyone to play a Pro ITF and British Tour same week, but possibly Junior ITF would be ok). However he would certainly have to lose his first round match tomorrow (scheduled second on) as the Worthing main draw is done Monday evening. Although Storch is higher ranked, Lui has the more impressive record this year, so he should be looking to progress here, and save the British Tour for later.
Jack and Alex both pick up top 100 scalps, with several results still to come

Thanks David. Yes play here and hopefully Roehampton the week after.
Any chance of junior Wimbledon? Is there qualifying for that?
Although he lost today Lui is playing doubles here and has withdrawn from the British Tour event. There is qualifying for Wimbledon (at the Bank of England club next Thursday/Friday). Lui is well down the list of alternates, but there is a decent chance he will be given a QWC considering his achievment/age
In the outstanding matches there was a good win for Jacob. Although his opponent was a qualifier William Grant is ranked 78 and featured in the US team which won the Paul Hutchins Trophy at Queens
