Maybe a bit of trivia but Fran's fame is spreading. The Daily Mail has a Name Game quiz in which 3 potential anwers are given. On Friday 12th March the question is asked "Francesca Jones is a British player of which sport?" Potential answers are tennis, golf and netball.
Pity Fran out in US Qualifyng but what a great effort again and what a great last year she has had.
I can't help compare what she has been thtough and still overcomes with Dame Sarah Storey lauded for winning a 15th Paralympic Gold Medal, as her legs and general fitness power her to cycling gold again, having long ago found an effective and comfortable for her riding hold that seems to allow her to effectively just ride. Sorry if that's seen as a tad controversial and Sarah lacking a functional left hand has a greater general disability, while the first 5 of these Paralympic golds were in swimming, so it's overall still very good. Still ...

Sarah Storey also competed in able bodied events for a long time at a World level, if I recall correctly?

Indeed she has been very competitive in able bodied cycling, I believe been in the GB world squad and at least close to making the GB pursuit team ( a discipline where bike handling must be particularly important ). I nearly mentioned that before but difficult to contextualise it around what I was saying generally. In that you could read it either as she is so particularly brilliant at overcoming her disability or for what she does it is very overcomeable. Bit of both?

I thought they only had Wheelchair Tennis at the Paralympics?
Unfortunately for Fran she's almost unique with her particular disability in the sport so can only compete with the able bodied players.
