Week 25 - ATP 500 - Fever-Tree Championships - The Queen's Club, London, Great Britain (grass)

Yes, to be honest, I'd never pay those prices for Queens tickets.

But, as you say flamingo, comparing food prices in London and Halle is hardly fair.

The sandwich prices at Queens are less than in all the cafés round Baron's Court station leading up to Queens.....

It's not really their fault that London is so friggin' expensive.

And, yep, go on free entry day (which Wimbledon no longer has, even though the player's at Queens qualis are better ranked).

Take your own lunch....

And just to add (because, yes, it is obviously a pretty snotty place overall), one rather nice thing about Queens is that, being in London, you get a lot of foreign fans there, a lot of people who live in London, who go along to support their player (and see tennis in general, I imagine).

I was sitting next to a group of Bublik supporters yesterday, young blokes, having a laugh, and there's always a decent local French contingent, some local Americans - it's one of the good bits which I doubt you get in Halle.....

Referring to some of the comments above, I didnt realise I should be banned from going to tennis tournaments. I think some of you should remember that massive supporters of British tennis (as I am) come from all sorts of demographics and yes, political leanings.

This reminds me why I rarely post on here anymore - perhaps I should stop reading too.

Maybe lets stick to supporting our players in their efforts.

 *thumbs up*

I don't give a toss really, I like tennis and will hopefully enjoy my days there. Nothing beats live tennis. Especially grass tennis!

 When are you going FW?

And how do you know andy is on Wednesday? Presume they'll play 6 round one singles tuesday as well as monday and then Wednesday the remaining 4 and 2 last 16 matches with residual last 16 thursday, quarter finals Friday etc.

In doubles not entirely sure, guess rain will decide.

Sadly, brittak, you can always rely on Jaggy to lower the tone by dragging in politics & allowing his obvious antipathy to any views that are inconsistent with his own to colour his opinions.  no

Cam is on before Ward and there is also Bambridge/O Mara doubles. I got it wrong on my post above as Cam is on 3rd and Ward 4th (Centre)

Not true, the reason I bring it up is because it is being discussed by tennis pundits such as David Law and Chris Goldsmith. It deserves to be highlighted as the BBC bias wont allow it elsewhere. Its also relevant to grass court season as it is part of the debate for tennis in this country at this time of year; every bit as much as the Wild Card yearly debate, a debate we wouldnt be having if we actually had any decent top level players as they would get in automatically.

Just because you dont like my opinion doesnt make it any less valid. Its based from experience of my visit and also comparing the various Slams. Ive been to 3/4 only got The US Open to visit. Im sure there arent many here who can say that.

Instead of comments such as yours, maybe debate it. Or maybe the truth hurts and you know I may have a point.

Come off it Jaggy.  It's not just your comment on the Queens' thread, so many of your posts are full of hate of those of a different political persuasion to you.

(Although I do see you have removed the political comment from the bottom of all your posts.)

If you want to debate it Jaggy...debate it. Your comments always come over as derogatory to anyone who supports/votes Conservative (which I do not). This is a tennis site and I am sure we come from a mixed background, tolerance of anyone's gender, age, sexuality, religious views and yes, political views too should not have to be asked for in my opinion, it should be a given.

The target audience and atmosphere at tournaments are relevant issues.

Wholesale generalisations about people attending and working at tournaments is wholly unhelpful apart from being clearly incorrect about many of the folk as is pointed to by some posters. As is often pretty irrelevant political soundbites.

So it is little wonder these comments are then taken as coming with an agenda, which may then see the more relevant better points lost. And thus counterproductive to any true debate if true debate is honestly being looked for.
