Curious that from 4-2 up in the third set and clearly in the ascendancy, the momentum swung quite so remarkably. (In addition to being 2-1 up in the tie-break with a mini-break and Simon dislocating his adductor).

I demand that the Count comes on here forthwith to explain how this can possibly happen.

So so close. Did well for qualifying and taking a very good (if older and erratic in form) player to the wire.

Edit to make sense!

Right. Surely one Brit must win tomorrow!?

Oh wait...

Maybe Jamie!

Haven't seen Simon play for quite some time. Had forgotten how annoying he is to watch, so defensive but obviously good at it. Frustrating. Another close one goes the wrong way.

Interestingly, Mahut qualified & beat Tiafoe by 6-3 7-6(5)...

So today I saw Kyle practising with Dr Ivo, Feli, Andy in the distance hitting with Bruno, Pavic and Dodig, saw a glimpse of John Inverdale (didn't seem quite so orange as he does on tv...), Stan practising (for ages) with Delpo and then with Vallverdu.

Ward Simon match might as well have been played on clay with all the long rallies and barely a volley (unless the first two sets were different?)

James played well, unlucky. Simon class act.

Agreed, anyone who remembers his epic DC match versus Andy at queens when we beat France and won the DC will agree I think.
