Sam played very well today. Is this the furthest Murray has been at a 100k?
Seems to be.
She reached a Japan 75K+H SF in November 2012, and that would have a higher equivalent today.
Great to see this recent form. I am one to generally think that if you've been up there and done it you can do it again but as time and injuries pass ...
Watched later stages of the first set and almost all the 2nd set. Sam played well, very few unforced errors, served well. Naomi patchy performance; looks short on confidence, uncertain of the bounce on the grass. The occasional good point from her but tons of dfs, in a rather confused serving display. Her return of serve was horrible, even blocked returns weren't finding the court.

Bless her but Naomi and return of serves really have never gone together .....

How was Gabi, in your view, kundalini?
Sorry, didn't see any of Gabi.
My unreliable memory suggests that Naomi's return has typically been worse on grass than on hard. Perhaps the lower bounce makes a difference.
Surprised by Sam. She was comfortably the better player whenever there happened to be a rally. Constructed her points well. A super backhand pass winner from her down the line during the tie-break.
Diyas took three minutes to get the one game needed to finish her QF match, so presumably her SF against Brengle will start as scheduled NB 11:45, with Sam's match to follow.
After hearing about Sam's comparatively error free play yesterday have watched her play a few games here today, and it's error after error after error. Last service game of Linette's to end the first set Sam hit four wild returns none of which looked close to being in. Rather repeated on her serve start of the next and now the rain has come 3-6 0-1*
Sam lost 3-6 0-6, so 9 games in a row for the Pole. Not sure if it was completed indoors or on grass after the lengthy layoff, but she only won 4 points in the first 4 games of the second set, before showing fight in the final 2 games.
Still an excellent week for her, and that Bouzkova win was brilliant, and she should now very much be in W QWC contention.
1. Linette vs 3. Diyas in the final tomorrow - both are already in the Wimbledon draw.
