Announced no play outside today. Presumably moving indoors.

Edit: Indoors. Doubles only. Singles cancelled for today.

Must be a Brit thing - seem to win quite a few MTB's.

You have to be in it to win it wink 2nd of the day. Very useful points for Sam and Emily who both had nice moves up in the doubles last week.

Re the MTB's

Out of curiosity I did a quick look through some results over the last year.
Beth appears to be around 13-5 in MTB's, and about 13-13 in other matches.
Emily W-S is pretty even, but then she won a lot in straight sets with Sofia.

No MTB for Naomi and Asia though, straightforward win 2 & 3

Disappointing loss for Em and Gabi 64 62. Thought that was a good draw in a 100k, but perhaps they'd have faired better if they'd been able to get on the grass (tho a win would only have moved Em up 1 place in the rankings). Had Sofia been able to get to the UK, they would have made the cut I think.

Alicia and Olivia on next.

Yes, Em and Sofia would easily have made the cut p freeing up a wildcard.

Lissey and Liv are a set and a break up at 7-5 *1-0, but there were 5 breaks in the first set.

5 out of 7 isn't bad especially (considering wildcards) as we're guaranteed a SF place. EWS has already covered her points 'till September. So lookimg good biggrin

Yes good stuff overall. Though EWS is someone I would particularly like to have seen been able to continue the great run she had been on with Sofia Shapatava before these last 2 weeks with Katy D and Gabi. I fear she will miss out when the Wimbledon doubles baubles get distributed and I could understand her frustration last week, possibly a build up of Sofia's visa issues and then Katy's withdrawal.

Sh*t happens - I doubt if anyone knows more about that than EWS smile
