Paquet has had a fortunate couple of days. Into qualies as alt for wickmayer, lost in fqr but then got a lucky loser spot into main draw as putintseva pulled out.

if played on grass Tara I think will beat Maia however if played indoors because of the weather I favour Maia

Yes, I agree, if matches end up getting moved indoors, it will seriously undermine the chances of Tara, and Heather v Sakkari, and possibly others.

Start of play looks like 1 pm from live scoring app...presumably it is raining?

Lovely day in Edinburgh. Just the odd fluffy cloud in the sky.

Hmm, isn't it marvellous? I daresay our weather last week has gone down south.

Do they still play the old Scottish Grass Courts Championships at Craiglockhart? We should use that as a venue next year if this keeps up!

I believe that the outdoor choice these days is clay or clay.

Have enjoyed watching futures action there in past times.

No play before 4pm. The 3 Brits are still scheduled to be today, but one more delay to the start time and you'd have to think that'll probably be it for the day:

Cancelled for the day. Might struggle tomorrow as well, unless they go indoors which would generally take away the advantages the GB players get.

They are hoping to play all 16 first round matches and all 16 of the mens first round ties. Good luck with that.
