Yes, but that's on current rankings not entry rankings ?
I was just working it out and came to the same figure based on ITF tables.
I expect the figure I was told was only approximate anyway (came from a player)
Kalinskaya has just defeated Bolkvadze, so all Q matches have now finished and we should know Katy's opponent soon. Kalinskaya joins Cabrera, McNally (beat Birrell 2 and 2 in FQR), Li, Raina and Dolehide in the main draw. Probably hoping for Cabrera for Katy, if not, then Raina or Dolehide.
Tomorrow's OOP has these three singles matches featuring GB players on Court 1, and then all of the GB R16 doubles matches will also be played mostly on Court 6 starting at 12.00
1 Starting at 11:00 WS R32 Jodie Anna BURRAGE - Vera LAPKO
2 Followed By WS R32 Naiktha BAINS - Greet MINNEN
3 Not Before 13:30 WS R32 Heather WATSON - Evgeniya RODINA [4
Further to the comments about why the LTA insist on doing such rich tournaments, it is my view that today was a complete waste of time for our female players.
If you want to scrape the barrel and be as 'Pollyanna' as possible, you could say: (1) Emily App played a decent and competitive second set against a very well ranked player, (2) in terms of pure tennis and back-of-the-court shot-making, Eden was at very much the same level as Caty (her choice of shot, though, was pretty dire, and her volleys even worse), (3) Naomi is capable of beating players ranked higher than her on grass so why not today, (4) Vic Allen is still young enough where experience is valuable in and of itself.
However, as said, that's clutching at straws. The other side is that all four players would have taken good value from playing people 100 ranks higher than them. But there was no point at all them playing women 300 places higher.
I wasn't able to watch any streams today, just looked at the scores when I could. Which courts were streamed today - was it courts 1 & 6 ?
I don't know. I went down today so say them all live. But someone said none of the GB girls were on streamed courts.
However, from last year, none of the women's matches were streamed anyway, no matter what court, just the men, so even if some are being streamed that's a step in the right direction.
