Week 23 - ITF (W100) - Surbiton, Great Britain - Grass

Now that Dan has finished and the other mens match, schedule suggests we should be seeing Heather and Katy Dunne on pretty quickly - nothing showing on ITF live scoring though?

Looks like Heather will be playing on CC next and Wickmayer-Maria on C1, so would be much later for Dunne, unless other courts are ready. There's still the other 2 men's QFs as well - they were quite fortunate that Dan won his quickly (and the other men's match) so they can hopefully at least get these 2 women's matches finished before play ends.

As on the men's thread, as of Wednesday, only Centre court and court 1 had covers. So, given the rain we've had today, I'd have thought it very unlikely that any of the other courts would dry out in time.

Although the singles has been cancelled, the womens doubles is being played and moving to the indoor court, looking at ITF schedule, so Heather will be playing the doubles final shortly

Currently Heather/Yanina *1-4 Brady/Dolehide

Rarely post scores or results, only when there seems to be no one else posting, however I always seem to chose the exact same moment as someone else!

match is being streamed.

Lost 3-6 4-6. Seven games went to 40-40 deciding point and the Americans won 5 of them.

That's a shame. I was hoping they would sneak that one, I've been out all evening, so didn't know that they were playing.

Seeing it was our first women's finalist on grass this year, setting out the result in full:

F: Heather WATSON (GBR) / Yanina WICKMAYER (BEL) 208 (59+149) lost to Jennifer BRADY (USA) / Caroline DOLEHIDE (USA) 172 (49+123) 3-6 4-6

As Jon has noted, Yanina has decisions to make tomorrow. Stick with Surbiton or twist for Nottingham.

I see 1xBet have got odds up for the 4 Surbiton QF matches and the 11 other Nottm qualifying matches, but not for Yanina vs Bolkvadze, whether that's just a coincidence or the decision has already been made, I'm not sure. I personally would definitely stay in Surbiton if I was her given she'd not have to travel, would get 25 additional points for another win, as well as potentially closing in on a Wimbledon wildcard.

Except it wasn't on grass; it was played on indoor hard at the NTC.
