Week 23 - ITF (W100) - Surbiton, Great Britain - Grass

Wickmayer doesn't have a decision, she's not allowed to withdraw from Surbiton to play Nottingham.

Seeing it was our first women's finalist on grass this year, setting out the result in full:

F: Heather WATSON (GBR) / Yanina WICKMAYER (BEL) 208 (59+149) lost to Jennifer BRADY (USA) / Caroline DOLEHIDE (USA) 172 (49+123) 3-6 4-6

Except it wasn't on grass; it was played on indoor hard at the NTC.

True but they still reached the final all on grass.

Thanks wolf. Should they have made the Nottingham draw with her in it , knowing she was still alive and kicking in surbiton? I guess she could still have played and lost her singles qf at the time Nottingham made ybe draw?

She could still have played Nottingham if she lost yesterday after the draw was made, but as soon as she had a match scheduled in Surbiton on the day of her first match in Nottingham she would have been automatically withdrawn from Nottingham.

So presumably the draw sheet and schedule just need to catch up then. Thanks

So what's most like to happen to Bolkvadze now? Bye, next in the list getting in, doubles player filling in, or might a Brit (like Rajecki) get lucky?

I presume it'll be the next on the list - depending who is on site.

This is such (enter word which forum will ** out) and I assume because of streaming/lack of for the women? Quite unfair really.

Looks as though play is underway, but the livestreams have frozen again for me. Both singles matches are available today, from courts 2 & 3

Katy *3-1.

AVU has an early break on McNally in the other match (possible Wimby WC implications).
