Week 23 - Challenger (€137,560+H) - Surbiton Trophy, Surbiton, Surrey, Great Britain (grass) - doubles

Just enough British interest to justify a separate thread, I think - & spare Jaggy's sensitivities!   wink

L16:  Álex de Miñaur (AUS) & Matt Reid (AUS/AUS) UNR (0+98) vs (WC) Liam Broady & Scott Clayton CR 418 (252+166)

L16:  (3) Luke Bambridge & Marcus Daniell (NZL) CR 98 (41+57) vs Peter Polansky & Brayden Schnur (CAN/CAN) CR 540 (203+327)

Bambo could have chosen a worse partner, if Jonny wasn't interested (or, more worryingly, injured)!  wink

L16:  (WC) Daniel Evans & Lloyd Glasspool CR 1381 (516+865) vs (2) Marcelo Demoliner & Divij Sharan (BRA/IND) CR 87 (48+39)

There are more Aussie players than GB players in the doubles!

A quality field of players for doubles, thats the way it should be. I may even register an interest.

Half thought that Jamie & Neal might have entered to get some practice under the belt as a team.

Neal was of course playing mixed in Paris today so presumably couldn't commit to surbiton at time draw was made and couldn't play

Word has it that not only has Neal been tied up with mixed etc, but Ken has been 'otherwise occupied' by pre-Champions League final preparation, actual Champions league final spectating, and post-Champions league final celebrating which (seemingly) is still ongoing smile

NB Jonny O was at Surbiton today - I overheard, a bit 'sore', seemingly, but will be fine by next week (?)

Not surprised to hear he was at Surbiton. Went past him this morning on my way to work.

It could have been over earlier:  Liam & Scott were a break up in the middle of the second set.

Well done to Dan & Lloyd.

I was a bit concerned that the opposition were going to 'steal' that having never even had a BP as against Dan & Lloyd's 1 converted from 7, including 0/5 in the lost 2nd set, and the Brits being quite well ahead on total points.
