Flight of fancy. If Dan wins today, wins Nottingham next week and wins queens, hed move top 30 and get a Wimbledon seeding.

Just saying...can at least mention it.

Dan is looking very good - hope he can translate this to grass wins at the next level now.

I agree, Dan is looking very good indeed. Plenty of variety in his game, looks fit, and has got a run of matches behind him this week.

Well done Dan!!!

Out of curiosity does anyone know why Troicki has taken such a huge drop in the rankings?

6 months out with back injury and then struggled since he came back to find form

Brilliant news. Puts Dan up to about 70 in the live rankings.

As well as confirmed WR 70 Dan is race #47, just 16 points behind Cam #44. Kyle is race #71.

A brief report on the final by the ATP.  Dan's the first Brit to win a Challenger singles title on home soil since he himself won his very first in Jersey ten years ago!

Fabulous clip in there of Dan, head first and a somersault and winning the point.

Though as Dan said post-SF, "Jersey's not really at home, is it?"

Surbiton Challenger SF: A twist in the tale - Dan tells us after the match that when he slipped and sat down, he was going to retire, then Copil started telling the crowd he was being a drama queen so he decided to carry on and beat him instead! Oops ...

4:08 pm · 8 Jun 2019 · Twitter for iPhone

  That'll teach Copil!  biggrin

When I listened back later, I realised Dan had followed this up with the line "so he lost the match by opening his mouth". smile

Dan, of course, would never chunter/banter from the back of the court biggrin

It was clear that what really got Dan's back up was the implication that he was taking a tactical MTO - he said afterwards that he never does stuff like that and thinking back, whatever other faults he may have, I'm pretty sure that's not one of them!
