Relatively tepid take on Konta: one reason she's playing well this year - hotter conditions when she's played. Here's where that "take" comes from.
Notable results -
Aus Open SF & QF (v. hot)
Wimbledon SF (hot summer)
Miami Champ (v hot)
Sydney (v hot)
Stamford (v hot)
Rome RU (hot this year)
Rabat (v hot)
In terms of Paris, it's been hot and clear on the days she's played save for Davis, where she struggled. She was unwell, of course, but it was also very chilly that evening when she got on (I was wearing three layers). My point is that her game works definitively better when the conditions are hot, clear with limited to no wind.
Many of the other results you could consider notable have come indoors, where conditions are obviously warm and unaffected by weather -
Beijing
Davis Cup
So, in my view, the forecast tomorrow of 20 degrees and sunny is an important factor.
Think they might be playing the two top half QFs tomorrow. Not looking good for today.
If they are delayed l assume Jo's SF will still go ahead tomorrow with a plan then to play the other SF on Friday and the final on Saturday. But as was said, Friday is not looking good.
Imagine if Martic had just held serve yesterday at 5-6 and won the tie break and forced a decider. Almost certainly that deciding set wouldn't have got finished as it was about 9.15pm when Marketa won. That would have been a huge advantage, Martic and Vond would have been waiting around for ages today wondering if they were ever going to get on and Jo would have had her feet up and be fully rested.
There's talk on Twitter that Jo's match might be moved to Friday regardless if there's no play today.
Edit - Ah that's confirmed now.

I assume that that's because the top half QFs and SF are now going to be scheduled for Thursday and Friday. And they are trying to be super fair in their minds by allowing the same number of days from SF to final for both finalists.
But that is hardly absolutely necessary and may be particularly daft given the Friday forecast.
If the final is still on Saturday the bottom half finalist will now be due to play Tuesday, Friday, Saturday when they are available to play their SF as originally scheduled on seemingly going to be dry Thursday.
Yes, but it's clear why it's being done. As they've cancelled today, that means the other two QFs are being played tomorrow, Thursday. Let's say Jo's SF went ahead then too... and Friday is rain affected an called off. That means the other women's SF would only be played on Sat, two days after Jo's. And even if it was played on Friday, with the final still held on Sat, Jo would still have a day more rest. Both SFs have to be on the same day, whichever day that is.
It's hard to tell. She's got talent and serious potential and no doubt will be a big player, but still a work in progress. She's tall, fantastic backhand, but not the best mover. She dismissed Sabalenka at the Aussie Open when Sabalenka was on her hot streak (and beat her again here), and people were getting excited, but then was completely dominated by a peak Kvitova in the next round. Her clay results this year, bar a weak Bogota field, have been modest, but I guess, as with women's tennis in general, the consistency isn't fully there and will likely depend on which one turns up on the day. Give it a couple of years and she'll probably be a mainstay.
