A lovely interview with Christine Janes on ITV.
When I was at primary school in the sixties, we used to walk past her house on the way home (my parents were big tennis fans, so knew these things!). There was a small sweet shop almost opposite her house, which we would pop into. Christine used to go there too. Sadly we never bumped into her, but the shop lady offered to get her autograph for me. I duly left her my autograph book, and was delighted to get it back with a lovely message from Christine! I still have it. We also managed to see her when she was leaving the house on her way to her wedding. Happy memories!

I see the Friday oop is out- mens semifinal are the main court with the two ladies starting at 11am on lenglen and the 3rd court for jo. A bit like a Wimbledon semi on court 2.

Realise poor weather expected but think they could have had the ladies at 11 am on chatrier and lenglen followed by men. Seems unfair on the ladies does this

I heard on the radio today that they sold separate tickets for each of the men's semis, hence felt rather tied to keeping them both on Chartier. However, there is usually a clause that says matches might be swapped. The ladies lose out again.

It's about the ticketing - they have to put both men's on the main court as they have sold the tickets as seperate events. Been quite a lot of discussion on twitter about it, but I haven't had a chance to read anything but the headlines yet.

Yeah, stuart Fraser says similar

(Neither) women's semi-final will take place on the showpiece Philippe Chatrier court:

"I think the situation was almost impossible for the organisers because they sold the tickets in advance as 'men's semi-finals' and 'women's semi-finals' before the weather delay.

"They are beholden to those customers - who may be people coming from far afield - to deliver two five-set matches."

The big issue tomorrow could be the wind .

And not sure how much this will effect Jos serve compared to Vondrousova. As for the court , its of course disappointing to see her put out on Simonne- Matthieu .

Perhaps Chatrier might have been a bit better as Jo had a lot more experience of the bigger stage .

Im still debating whether Id like to see tomorrow a washout . Jos game I think would be better in warmer conditions with a lot less wind.

Im in two minds Id love to see some tennis tomorrow but equally I think Jo would have more in her favour on Saturday !

Yes, having waited 3 days, might as well wait a 4th if it's better for Jo.

Though I'm not sure the weather is going to be so bad that they won't get on sometime even if that's quite late.

 Aye but they might not even get 5 set matches - over in straights possibly.

The WTA getting involved and giving the French RG authorities a real boll***ing:

Theres no doubt that scheduling has been challenged by weather conditions and the WTA understands the scheduling issues presented at Roland Garros, a statement from Simon read. We are, however, extremely disappointed by the schedling of both womens semi-finals on outside courts. This decision is unfair and inappropriate. The four women who have played so well and made it this far have earned their right to play on the biggest stage. We believe other solutions were possible which would have been to the benefit of fans as well as players.

I've got Jo on the TV and the other on the laptop and Anisimova has done so well to get back into it. It was *0-5 and it was looking like a 12/13 minute set, but now back at 5-5 and she has 2 BPs.

 

Serving for the set now, unbelievable turn around.
