It does make me wonder if Kyle has been carrying something for a while. I didn't see much of the match today or any of his first round match, so perhaps I am not in the best position to judge. But having had such a poor run of results leading into RG, the logical thing to do last week was to seek a WC into Lyon or Geneva to get some match practice. But he didn't do that. Has he been hiding a niggling injury ?
I know some will shout "Conspiracy Theory" or "making excuses" and they may be right. But Kyle hasn't been "Kyle" in my opinion almost all year. He is not a person who would have walked off court today unless there was a really genuine reason for doing so.
I just hope he hits the grass court season fully fit and healthy.
From another forum but the ITV coms were discussing this and if Kyle is getting the best advice from his team. Playing through it doesn't exactly seem to be working...
Heard Kyle talking about playing through it at times but having to basically assess the risk / reward ratio and he hates retiring. He says it is not something that suggests surgery at this time or of course he would be having it already. And when questioned whether taking a few weeks or months off was the answer he said no, it is more managing it for now and that he fully expects to play the grass season.
Got to think that his team are not fools and that he is getting good advice and medical assessment ( including when he should really stop ). But worrying as long as it persists and other than being his knee nothing seemed to be made much clearer. He said something about it initially being fluid behind the knee.
Looking at the draw there is a possibility of 8/8 players being over 30 years of age in the quarters. Roger, Rafa, Novak and Stan looking more likely so 4 for starters. From the other 4 Id say 2 maybe will come through.

Those 4 over 30 yos for starters and finishers. The under 30s won the other 4 matches
Rafa in final , straight sets over Fed but appears it was a v good match. Still counting on thiem to come good as my pick for the tournie, he is 1 set all and a break 3-1 up on Djoko

Play cancelled for the day, Novak off home in a car.

Seriously!?!
So presumably they will resume before the womens singles final tomorrow

Yup, seriously. Novak left the court before play had been officially suspended too. Unsurprisingly Thiem wanted to continue. Hope the fans/crowd get a refund on their tickets (think they had 2 separate sessions for Fedal/this one £££)

Also, this turned out to be fake news. Djokovic did leave but only before it was announced to the crowd - the players were told.
