I think on the balance of play you have to be happy with that away point, and it extends the unbeaten run to 5, but then the next 3 games do look trickier on paper than tonight. It will be interesting to see how the table looks in the next 3 or so games. The mood seems positive from these final whistle scenes, so that may answer the question.
Agree. Given the balance of the game, particularly in the second half, I was glad to get away from there with a point.
I thought Palace had the better of the first half and Leeds the second ! I thought we could get through and win it but we had no real threat tbf. A draw is one we will take.
jonathan Pearce on R5live has leeds , Everton and Burnley all ending on 40 points - I had 39 but basically agree. And he had Villa on 42. It would be almost unheard of for a team to reach 40 and go down. And Villa are deep enough in this as well to not be safe.
Watford vs Burnley is such as big match (for Burnley) on Saturday, and one you feel they really have to win. They will have probably have had an underdog mentality these past 3 games, but now they are out of the relegation zone and playing a side below them who are pretty much gone, and the onus / expectation is now on them to get the win. Watford absolutely shocking at home, and have lost 10 league games in a row at VR, but then Burnley have only won one match away.
If they win it will give them such a good platform to get another win in either match vs Villa, but if they don't win, especially if they lose, then I think it could be critical for them. I still have least faith in Burnley surviving at this stage, despite Everton currently being the betting faves to go down.
Quite looking forward to the Liverpool match tomorrow. A very tough prospect, but good chance to see how far Newcastle have come, and how they match up to an amazing side - while Klopp isn't happy happy with the 12.30pm KO, I do think the atmosphere would have been a lot better had it have been switched to 5.30pm or 7.45pm, so it may actually benefit Liverpool. Absolutely mad to think with 4 games to go, it's an effective free hit for Newcastle with no pressure or jeopardy.
Big final day in League One tomorrow with the title, automatic promotion, playoff places, and a relegation spot or two all to be determined. Those matches also kick off at 12.30pm.
The Premier League safety points cut seems to be getting higher and higher with Villa and Palace no doubt rather pleased to have won this weekend and got to 40 and 41 points respectively.
Latest bet365 for that 3rd relegation spot :
Leeds (34 points from 34) 11/8
Everton (32 from 33) 7/4
Burnley (34 from 34) 9/4
Southampton (40 from 35) 66/1
Brentford (40 from 34) 100/1
Aston Villa (40 from 33) 500/1
I'm another Leeds supporter, since approx 1974. I am now getting very worried. We are finding it hard to score, Burnley are on a roll and Everton I just think will pick up a couple of wins. Could have done with nicking three points at Palace last week. Obviously didn't expect anything from man city but the other two results this weekend were disastrous. I think if we lose next two, to Arsenal and Chelsea we won't make it. Somehow need a big unexpected result. If we do pick up 6 + more points I can see someone going down on 40 this year. And could be us with our goal difference. Good tennis weekend but terrible football one...

Yeah, it's not looking great for Leeds at the moment, and not long ago they were around 6/1, and their results have largely been good these past 6 weeks, 3 wins, 2 draws, and that expected defeat to Man City. 38 points might not be good enough now, whereas it was looking much lower than that only 14 days ago before Burnley's crazy upturn.
Just so pleased Newcastle managed to win those 10 matches from 14, because even a return of 8 wins, 1 draw, 5 defeats, which would have still been fantastic, would have saw us on 37 points with Man City and Arsenal up next, and then a potentially disastrous match at Turf Moor on the final day.
Likely still a few twists, turns, and unexpected results to come, but it's looking so much better for Everton now, and they could get a lot more points from their next 4.
That 7-0 battering could possibly cost Luton a playoff place, still in their hands, and they may get it even with a loss on the final day, but that's got to sting. Possibly better news for Sheff Utd though (who play Fulham on the final days) now that a few milestones have been achieved, Mitro record goal scorer, passed the 100 goal mark etc.
Ha, many Rangers supporters are confused enough about their identity.
I'm so far from being a Rangers fan but what a great achievement to reach the Europa Final, especially dispatching Dortmund and Leipzig along the way who are both in theory better than Eintracht Frankfurt. So clearly a guaranteesd win
Rangers were also without their two main strikers in both legs against Leipzig.

I knew you were primarily St Mirren, but thought you also liked Rangers for some reason, but yeah, what a fantastic run they've had, and definitely within a good chance of winning it. A Rangers vs West Ham final would certainly have been a sight to behold, but I think we've got the final I was hoping for at the start of the evening.
I was mainly watching the Rangers match, and Ibrox was rocking. A bad couple of nights for the PL with Man City, West Ham and Leicester all exiting at the SF stage of their respective competitions.
