Defeat in the Italian Grade 1 event yesterday means that Amarni Banks has to qualify for this week's strong Grade A event (cut inside 100).  She is on court at the moment for her first match with scores at http://scores.tennisticker.de/ita/sb.html?tournid=4399  (currently leads 3*-2)   Harry Wendelken is the only Brit in the main draw by ranking

Marni is on court again for her final qualifier - a tough match against the current TE14 European Champion (defeated Diana Shnaider, who has just won the Italian Grade 1, in the final) . Currently 5-5

Qualifiers have yet to be placed - Harry gets one of them, with second seed and JWR6 Bu Yunchaokete a possible round 2 opponent (who beat Harry easily last month)

Blast, Armani has drawn the second seed, Hurricane Tyra Black, who is currently ranked JWR 13. It's a shame, given the efforts made to get into the draw and the lack of points for qualifying. However, more signs of progress. Well done to qualify and good luck.

Neither Harry nor Marni were scheduled for today. In completed matches half-Brit Joanna Garland lost out to last week's Grade 1 winner Diana Shnaider (Marni's conqueror). Hurricane won her last junior event, a home Grade 1
