I just saw an article about Sabalenka saying she hasn't got a visa to enter the UK yet. I don't know if it's just clickbait or if the government is planning to maintain the ban on Russians and Belarussians by taking its own action which, if they do, they really should have done so last year rather than let the LTA take all the flak.
I am not sure what the visa requirements are, but my understanding is that the players from the two countries were/are required to sign an undertaking about state sponsorship and not promoting or talking about the war, and once they had signed that undertaking, they would be able to get clearance to play in the events in the UK. I am not sure if a Visa is related to that undertaking, or separate, but if she hasnt signed that yet, for whatever reason, then I can see why she would not have a Visa yet - I doubt the UK government is doing a blanket ban on Russians or Belarussians in isolation, given they were apparently working with the LTA on this, and that it is more likely to be aligned to something specific about Sabalenka at this point
Could he be thinking he wont use his PR on domestic events and take wild cards? Hed get them. He doesnt need to protect other Brits, he can save his PR for overseas - if it works that way, I dont know?
I don't know what the entry procedures are for men but I note that the alternates on the men's entry list only goes to WR200. Like Fran, Kyle won't have used his PR to enter with the intention, if he wants to play, to either request or already have agreed a WC. So he doesn't appear as is entry ranking is below WR200.
It's unusual for high profile players to use a PR for their home slam as a WC will usually be offered.

Amazed to get it right for once! I usually speculate and find im off beam!
Was just looking into tickets for Qualifying. £15 now, which is not bad for the tennis on offer although considering it wasn't many years ago it was free! Tickets on sale 1st June according to the Wimbledon site. Also I notice that it says they will have a new show court.
Show Court
2023 will see the Show Court at Qualifying relocated to the main field with the seated capacity increased to 777. There will also be 8 wheelchair accessible and companion seats.
Thought this was going to happen it looked like something was getting done in the middle of the field last year.

A rather neat 777 seats - are Boeing the sponsors?
Presumably it is televised this year, theyve done a decent job televising it in the past couple of years, bringing new names to peoples attention - presume this court would also be the TV court, if so?
Looks like there is more than one way to skin a cat. I am expecting this to be sorted but it would be hilarious if it wasn't. I do feel for Andreeva though, 16 is too young to be dragged into this mess so I'd be happy for her Visa to be rushed through, not fussed about the other Players.
I wonder how the atp and wta would react if players missed the event due to this? Or the grass season more widely? Would
They penalise Wimbledon or shrug their shoulders?
