Boys: J4 Nottingham, hard (Week 18)

The second week has a similar field to the first including the two Belgians who dominated week 1.  Joel Perleoni and Peter Alam are among the additions.  Main draw should be up soon on https://www.itftennis.com/juniors/tournaments/tournament/info.aspx?tournamentid=1100044603

GB player, 2004-born Yujiro Onuma, has won two matches, including beating the 15th seed, 6-0 6-0

2005-born Luca Pow has also made the last 16, beating the 10th seed

Wildcard Revelli continues his good run from last week, beating the 13th seed. Skupien beat the 14th seed.

That said, British seeds, Nolan and Alam lost.

Eight out of the last 16 are British.....

Young 2004-born Yujiro Onuma is certainly a player I will now watch out for.

He lost today, but in three sets against the top seed, 6-4 4-6 6-2. Excellent effort.

Like the girls, only 3 out of the last 8 are British.

Finn Murgett (2001), Sam Bossem (2002) and Joel Pierleoni (2003) make up our last boys standing.

Ominously both Belgian finalists from week 1 are still in. However they didn't enter the doubles, so won't get another clean sweep

QF

(4) Joel Pierleoni v (8) Nino Ehrenschneider (GER)
(5) Finn Murgett v (16) Dominik Rys (CZE)
(7) Pierre Yves Bailly (BEL) v (2) Sam Bossem
