All sorts of conundrums:

Looks like there was one MD withdrawal with highly ranked Larra not in quals - is that Hev?
Has Freya withdrawn or had her QWC boosted to an MDWC?

I was a big fan of Ruse during the grass season last year, especially her great match with Radwanska at Wimbledon and she was a bit of a Brit killer in the warm up events (including Eden as shown), but she did retire in her match in Grenoble yesterday, 5-0 down in the 2nd set, so may well have been pride, but could be an opportunity for Eden there. Jodie looks the best bet for a win out of that lot. Not a bad draw for Laura, but probably a bit optimistic to hope for a win after being out so long.

Anyway, looking forward to this starting now.

Freya must have been bumped up.

Unfortunately, I expect Heather has withdrawn.

Had such a fantastic time at Fed Cup in Bath I've decided to go to Shrewsbury for the next 3 days to watch the girls!
Nothing much in the diary this week and making the most of my retirement!!!

My word, it's like she's never been away so far. That forehand is really firing.

What a lovely first set. I thought her schemes of play were rather like Katie boulters. That training camp must have been good.

Listening with the sound on, it's a real cacophony of noise there... sounds like a constant stream of 100 balls being hit at once.

And Laura looks to be in the wrong place. Hope she can sustain it.

Emily underway as well and think that's her who you can ust about see on the Laura stream. She's *0-1 A-40 with Ponchet. Both games going to deuce.

Looks like a MTO for Laura's opponent.

Edit - Laura's opponent has just retired.

Laura certainly looking good. Bit tough on Pieri, since Laura's been hitting with our FED cup team, and seems to have found her game.
