A shame for Jacob but obviously put up some resistance against the 6 th seed, it is interesting that Nicolas is still focusing on juniors while Jack has moved on, generally not the Spanish way?
So the final is No 1 seed Tauson of Denmark against #4 Fernandez of Canada - the latter having a couple of matches against Heather and Katie B at the back end of last year. It starts at 1.15am UK time.
The girls final, as above, is a repeat of last week's G1 final which Clara won easily. The boys final which follows has top seed Lorenzo Musetti (US Open runner-up) against American Emilio Nava
Clara is the standout player here Fernandez has never taken a set off her, she also lost to Emma R at Wimbledon, indeed this time last year Holly beat her in Paraguay. Shame things didnt pan out slightly differently for our girls here or indeed in Hollys case over the last year, a very good showing by Vicky never the less.
I have no idea how academic Victoria is but she would be a good recruit for the SEC, get some tough college tennis and in for 4 years (or in Astras case 5) she could come back and ? Win the mixed doubles! Astra Sharama highest national college rank while at Vandy was No1 with a certain Emily Smith.
Must be great for Denmark to have someone to get really excited about.
They've only got three women with WTA rankings (one of whom is Emily Arb's old mucker, Emilie Francati, who was JWR 38 but has not yet really made big inroads into adult tennis)
They do also have a youngster called Divine (a name that sort of jumps out at you ) who's born 2004 and is currently about JWR 300
