Cam through in straight sets, be interesting to see how close he will be to Kyle after Aus Open this year in terms of ranking.

Quarter final winnable against Fritz who took out his Master in Isner.

Very probably not as close, indeed ahead, as has previously been predicted in some quarters.

Anyway, good stuff by Cam and all the best to both Kyle and Cam.

Yes upon checking the only way for Cam to go ahead of Kyle would be formhim to win the title here, then go to quarters in Aus with Kyle going out first round. Highly unlikely, but maybe by springtime. They will certainly only be about 20-30 positions apart by then Id imagine based on Kyle dropping to 30s and Cam up to 50s

Just needs cam, Andy, Dan or James ward to win the Aussie Open and they'd be number one with 2000 points for a win. Unless kyle reaches the final that is, in which case he'd stay number one. Long shot but you never can tell. Should be competitive

Cam reaching at least the Aus Open SF would need to be in the equation for any chance of him being ahead of Kyle immediately post the Aus Open.

Anyway we will soon enough see how far apart they will be then and in time see how that looks later on.

Though Cam has done enough here already ( QF takes him to live 655 points ) that the Aus Open title would guarantee him ahead of Kyle and GB #1. Simples

Cam wins 7-6, 6-3 excellent stuff, served well and broke at the right time. Fritz will be to top 20 player so thats a good sign of where Cam is going. Got to be heading towards top 50 youd think.

A 250 SF in the nation in which he grew up, what great preparation for next week. Now I am a bit conflicted as on one hand he could do with winding down a bit in preparation for next week, on the other when Dan did so well reaching the final in Sydney he took his form straight into the AO. Cam just needs to stay off the Matinborough Blanc de blanc and Stein Larger if he wins.

Excellent news.

Great start to 2019
