Week 2 - ATP 250 - ASB Classic - Auckland, New Zealand (hard)

QR1:  (qWC) Ajeet Rai (NZL) UNR vs (q6) Cameron Norrie WR 90 (CH = 66 last August)

Assuming Cam wins that one, he'll almost certainly face the q1, one Aljaz Bedene, in the FQR.

Think you have your draws muddled up there as Bedene is in Sydney!

Cam would probably play Ramos in FQR

Cam v Bedene would have been fun though!!! Probably wishful thinking!!

Cam of course has NZ background, not sure what the NZ tennis fans think of him , is he well regarded or a turncoat? Hopefully, playing at "home" on one level will suit him and he will get a few decent wins

In another twist Ramos has made main draw at Sydney which is a bit weird so may get better for Cam

Norrie is showing now as withdrawn from Qualifying. Dont know if that means hes moved to the M.D. or what. Also notice Mr Skugor has signed in as an alt to Qualifying so I guess we might see Dom in Doubles.

Four withdrawals showing on qualifying now, M. Mmoh, A. Ramos-Vinolas [1], D. Lee and C. Norrie [4]. But the second and third seeds are still there, so I guess Cam has pulled out.

Cam has drawn Paire.

Edit - fun Paire fact - he has a beard sponsor.

Edit 2: possibly, minus Monfils, the Q spots are better although Paire can run v hot and cold.

Confirmed on the ASB Classic twitter. Plays Benoit Paire in round one.

Does seem a bit odd that he should get a MDWC at this late stage.
