RE: Davis Cup day 1 - Rusedski v Tipsarevic

Tippy serving at 2-3 down: Greg starts great with a big forehand winner but then Tippy takes control with some powerful hitting and finishes things off elegantly with an aesthetic drop-shot

Greg holds for 4-3 - another big serving game containing his 25th ace. Tippy only really had 1 chance on one of the points and for once he missed a passing shot.

Followed by a love hold from Tippy, I was really hoping that he'd get a bit down after losing that 3rd set but it doesn't really seem to have affected him, he's still hitting powerfully from the baseline - tiebreak looming.

Madeline's not there - she's glued to the TV somewhere in Newcastle

There might be a lady called Elaine at the Braehead Arena but not from this site

Rusedski holds for 5-4 with some unreturnable serving, another ace and some massive service winners, though he blots his copybook with a double fault

Murray has reappeared so it looks as if it'll be Big Arv facing Novak

Serbia hold for 5-5

How did Greg not win that game, he must really concentrate hard now as he should really be now signing autographs and heading to the locker room but he mustn't think about that

6-5 Greg, love game.

If  ( please ! ) Greg wins, I actually think I'd rather they saved Andy till tomorrow as previously planned.

To be fair to Greg, Tippy came up with some inspired tennis to save all those match points, the pick of the lot was the passing shot which saved the 4th point.

Credit to Greg he put the pressure straight back on with a love hold for 6-5.

Now he has his 6th match point at 30-40 on Tippy's serve
