Looks like Andy will play a couple of clay tournaments but not the French. It makes sense as waiting until June to play isnt doing much for match sharpness, its essentially a free hit for him.

Wow well done Jack!  He beat Lorenzo ranked 27.  Excellent result.

Just learnt from Prime commentary that Anne Simpkin is JD's aunt. I remember her from the late 80s as mainly a Challenger level player from Leicester. Anyone know how she comes to be his aunt? As we've established that his mum's maiden name was Entract.

Quite a lengthy (& flattering) article about Jack in the ATP's "Challenger spotlight" headed "Draper's domination:  get to know the 20-year-old setting the Challenger Tour ablaze" courtesy of his three titles so far this year.  smile

Thanks SC. Though I see the article dates from March before Jack won a 4th Challenger title of the year in St Brieuc to add to his 3 Forli titles  I was going to say ...

I must confess I didn't notice the date of the article & at the beginning of March, I wasn't exactly fully compos mentis, so the St Brieuc title wouldn't have registered at all.

Very interesting and revealing article about Jack -

"Jack Draper is Britain's next big thing in tennis with hopes he can make the elite" www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/tennis/article-10953073/amp/Jack-Draper-Britains-big-thing-tennis-hopes-make-elite.html

Youd think youd learn not to read the comments on a daily Mail article by now hahaha

Looks as though the potential was there for it to be another Golding,so kudos to those who kept him on track. He must have been through a lot - parents splitting up is not fun, I speak from experience.

My mate who lives in Bolton told me Jack's dad plays for a club 15 minutes walk away from where he lives.

Well I found it interesting.  I assume Jo Durie is telling the truth.  Thank you for the link.

It was the comments by readers, not the article itself.

Sorry - I see exactly what you mean.  Along the lines of 'Tim Henman was a failure because he only got to no4 in the world'!
