2/3 is a decent return though given the opposition and the respective pre-match odds.
From a personal perspective, if only 2 could have made it then I'm I'd have chosen this outcome, but hopefully Naomi can pick up some form soon. Not looking too good though as the grass season was pretty much non existent and 2018 in general has been pretty poor. She's dropped down to the ITF scene but is still losing to the likes of Abbie Myers (twice), the young Chinese junior Xiyu Wang among others.
Naomi is back out, with Fanny Stollar, to try and progress in her doubles match. They're the top seeds.
Will her largesse extend to advancing her opponent almost a set worth of free DF points here too?
They may not need any help, as Kozlova/Rus take the first set, and see Naomi & Fanny on the wrong end of the scoreline, 2-6.
I'd say it was surely time for Naomi to accept some full time outside assistance; she may have already done so? History tends towards suggesting not though. This is Naomi, after all: she'll do it her way regardless.
She's confounded us before by making it work, and may do so again. It seems unlikely now to me, and increasingly less likely with every match summary I see, and especially every live footage I see.
But then, I said that quite a few times before, and after Shrewsbury in 2012, I was absolutely convinced that Naomi was definitely going to be imminently quitting tennis altogether. So, what do I know?
Disappointing results to wake up to. I expected Em and Katy to be gunned down, but thought Naomi would do better. She seems to hqve done really well in Team Tennis, but needs to start getting some results in tournaments again.
Oh wow, just looked at the momentum graphs for the three matches. Would have been better off serving underarm ! Three in one game is bad enough - but 8 ?!!!!

Yes, I've just looked at it too.... what horrors
And Naomi's serve is supposedly the strong part of her game.... Is she getting any coaching at all at the moment?! Whilst Naomi may not have calculated it, letting Fitzy go when she did was a very expensive mistake on her part. The way she's going now she will be tussling with Katy D for the GB #8 position by the end of this year.
