Dan is playing himself into the (meaningless) Davis Cup tie in Glasgow next month. On this form, he is a dead cert for selection.

5-2*

One to go Dan. One to go.

felt like a DC tie, good crowd well into the match!

Very impressive win from Dan. Fantastic to have a better first serve win percentage than Pospisil. Well done!

Was that really only a Challenger SF ? That was an ATP Main Tour event quality match on both sides of the net. Well played to both players and so delighted that Dan came out on top.

Only saw the last set, but that break point was fantastic and Evo played superbly.
Crowd very loud, something went on mid set that upset Vacek.

That was a brilliant win, so well worth staying up for (even if it's not that late by my weird standards LOL), and I know from here and Twitter than lots of Brits did stay up!

Nice handshake at net though so clearly not something Dan did

Yes, that's what I was thinking, but then they are former top 50 players (top 25 for VP) and they seemed to be on great form tonight, the raucous crowd probably helped them both.

Dan at 257 in the live rankings. Don't think he has to worry too much now about getting into AO qualifying. Should be aiming for a seeding now. Seems like a realistic target.

As Bob says Dan at 257 on live rankings - one more win will take him back to GB #4

Well done Dan. Im jet lagged and time confused but just woke up to catch the last few points. Vancouver air quality has been dire recently due to wildfire smoke ( though perhaps improved in last few days) so Ibe been concerned for all our players there.

Well worth staying up for. Dan showing a lot of skill and variety, and was able to take the game to VP.

At that 4-1 changeover Pospisil says to the umpire "When he makes faces at me that's disresctful".

I turned in after seeing the end of the first set last night, woke up early just and switched the phone on to check the result and my eyes nearly popped out of my head!! Really didn't see him pulling that one out.

Well done Dan! Every chance of winning the whole thing now IMO.

Dan is progressing much more quickly than I anticipated. I wonder if he will go back to the same shop to buy his AO shirts!

Perhaps Luke 1977 could step in to start producing/sponsoring his shirts. Seems to have soft spot for sportsman striving to comeback from lean times. A nice little claret number he has knocked out in Birmingham has sold out! Just imagine the positive publicity of affiliating yourself with a winner like Dan!
