Wow as BiS said there what a backhand and what a point to win. Andy Murrayesq defending. He really had no right in winning that break point some tremendous fighting. Since I tuned in mid second set Evo is playing as well as Ive seen since his hotspot 2 years ago.

As I type hes 3-0 lookin comfortable.

Love Dans game, along with Andy he is the most talented Brit we have on the mens side. Im certain he would be our number 1 or close to it (if you subtract Kyles Aus Open Im certain), had he kept going last year.

No breaks in the 2nd set until the 12th game, when Evo breaks to love to win the set!
"COME ON!!" he bellows, as well he might ... and I might have too *blush* 3-6 7-5
"Stayin' Alive" blares out, quite appropriate for the Brit!

The funny part was the guy heard trying to sing along and who didn't know any of the other words.

There are suspicions that it might have been the umpire - Stayin' Alive also being quite an appropriate song for any umpire trying to get through an Evo match unscathed

Yes, I rather wondered was that the umpire just after he radioed the set score to someone.

Meantime great serving and great final point to rescue Dan from *15-40

4-1*

Don't know what was kicking off after that last game. Pospisil for one going on about something.

Poor umpire, now they're both having a go at him "Look guys, it's time to play now, ok"

Dan is playing himself into the (meaningless) Davis Cup tie in Glasgow next month. On this form, he is a dead cert for selection.

5-2*

One to go Dan. One to go.

COME ON !!!! Dan dares and does it, takes the 2nd break point after VP saves the first with brilliant backhand passing shot, 6-2 in the third, though not nearly as comfortable as 6-2 sounds.
