Olivia SW is playing Eden in doubles. Rare chance to see the former. She stands to receive in doubles like Tara!

Typical, ITF live streaming won't load, and the match doesn't show on the other sites I use.

She's got moxie! Getting to the net and imposing herself.
Jess Aney and Olivia are giving the more decorated Silva/Ka pairing a run for their money, OSW 4 - 6 Eden

The Pitak's are not having the best time against Caregaro/Moratelli, 0-6

Wonder where Emma R is?

Does seem strange that she made qualifying, but didn't sign in. Haven't seen any evidence of her playing since Wimbledon either.

I do hope that she's not going to be another Robbo.

 Which er, means what exactly?

It's very easy for folk to dismiss Laura but pre-wrist injury and career ending surgery she had a fair bit of success.

Nice to watch OSW play, she seems to have a lot of energy, and stands a chance at getting a ranking, but Silva/Ka had too much in the end today, and they prevailed, 6-4 6-3

Meanwhile, the Pitak's are back from the dead, 0-6 6-2

So 5 from through from our second tier singles players ( if they'll forgive me that term ), all I'm sure with aspirations for at least being GB top 10 and say top 300. Fran certainly ( and no doubt the others still ) indeed aspirations of more. Not a bad day.

Pitak's couldn't quite pull off the improbable comeback.

R16: Pitak/Pitak (GBR/GBR) 2640 lost to Caregaro/Moratelli (ITA/ITA) 781 0-6 6-2 [6-10]
R16: Silva/Ka (GBR/CAM) 1227 defeated Sonnekus-Williams/Aney (GBR/USA) UNR (both UNR) 6-4 6-3

Cracking win for Fran. Shows she's ready for 25K level. Interesting battle between her and Freya next.

Really tough to know who to support here.  Freya probably needs the win more, but I love Fran..... Shame either has to lose.

Tough indeed, big fan of both but I'm just about pulling for Freya. I agree that she does probably need the win more, a few years older and lower ranked and a million miles away from her career high. Fran is coming into this on the back of another title and already has a great win over a seed here so she can be pretty content whatever happens, but from Freya's perspective, a win over a Q and then losing to a 17 year old compatriot, won't necessarily be seen as progress.

Good luck to both though and hope it's a good match and more importantly, that it's streamed biggrin

I don't think the fact that it's a Q is a problem - the Q player was still ranked a fair bit higher than Freya herself (as she was a wildcard) so it's not like beating a Q if you're in the draw as of right and the Q is some way below you. It was a good win.

Match against Fran should be streamed as it's on court 1 tomorrow.

Thought the opponent was ranked in the 700's (but realise that was Eden's, albeit a youngster so you'd expect that will improve anyway). Yes, good win as she was 50 places above her. I think they were both 5/6 in the odds so as much chance to go out as to progress. I suppose in reality, if you are a WC then even getting a win is a good return, but I do personally still think this is more important for Freya
