Katie starts the 2nd set with another b error then a shocking f drive volley wide, but recovers to take the next 4 points, finishing with an ace 1-0*
AK saves a bp with an unreturned first serve in a long game, KB punished several 2nd serves but guilty of too many soft errors earlier in the game 1-1
KB dominating rallies yet losing them due to final shots that land miles wide or well past the baseline, twice saves bp with unreturned first serves yet ultimately broken after a b error long 1-2*
KB breaks back, keeping the errors to a minimum for once, helped by a df on her 2nd bp 2-2
Katie immediately down 0-40, saves all three bps, one super f cc winner off a deep shot, 5 points in a row for her, lots of good shots 3-2*
Boulter earns 3 bps while I wasn't watching. AK puts a b long for the break *4-2
An awful f dtl gifts AK the first point, 3 more errors from KB, nowhere near as bad, hand AK a break 4-3*
Easy love hold for AK, she's played a solid match, high first serve percentage, relatively few errors, keeps the ball in play, content to let Katie implode 4-4
Rain - court flooded so I guess that's it for the night.

4-6 *4-4
New day, maybe Katie can turn the page, and come out for the resumption better than Ms. Swan managed in similar circumstances.
Hard to fathom why Kiick of all players should pose such a quandary, just one of those match-ups.
Yesterday was Katie B's birthday, guess she did not have any time to celebrate it last night, would be good if she could pull out a more celebratory performance today when she returns. Harriet's birthday was on Saturday, so two in one week for the Washington competitors (both have just turned 22).
