L32: Stan Wawrinka (SUI) WR 263 (CH = 3 in January 2014) vs (WC) Cameron Norrie WR 79 (= CH) L32: (WC) Jay Clarke WR 220 (CH = 219 in April) vs (5) Sam Querrey (USA) WR 13 (CH 11 in February)
L32: Nick Kyrgios (AUS) WR 24 (CH = 13 in October 2016) vs Andy Murray WR 157 (CH = 1 in November 2016) L32: Ryan Harrison (USA) vs (7) Kyle Edmund WR 18 (CH = 17 last month)
L32: Adrian Mannarino (FRA) WR 25 (CH = 22 in March) vs (WC) Dan Evans WR 530 (CH = 41 in March last year)
I had kinda assumed that if Andy plays he'll get an MDWC - well cos he's Andy.
Andy doesn't need a WC. He's on the MD entry list based on his ranking at the entry date cut-off ( before his French Open 2017 points came off ).
I also assume that even if his ranking at entry date wasn't good enough, he could have used his Protected Ranking to gain entry anyway, something that I am sure he would do at Wimbledon if he chooses to play.
Nope once again he would not need to. He is already in main draw for Wimbledon!
I'm confused now, when are the rankings dates taken for a 500 and a GS?
6 weeks before the main draw starts in each case. So 07/05 ( Andy WR 39 ) for Queen's and 21/05 ( Andy WR 45 ) for Wimbledon.
A) could say this about literally anyone Andy drew
And
B) Nick is still in Stuttgart (plays Fed today in the SF) and has a losing record against Andy. Nick is a total Andy fan boy, he really looks up to him (I feel). Nick has also had injury problems, Stuttgart being his first singles tournament in some time.

My bad, I put the race up instead of the rankings when looking at their opponents.
