Katie Swan played very well in the bits I saw of the match. One thing I was unimpressed with was the way she spoke to the ball boys. Doesn't seem to know what the words please and thank you mean.
There arent many that are well mannered to be fair.
She ignored my toddler in Shrewsbury last year (when the only acceptable response is to marvel at her unique cuteness) so I'm obviously implacably against her now, but I have sympathy for players ignoring the ball boys and girls during the game. It must be so difficult to keep your focus on the game and also manage social interactions (even basic ones) that I can understand players switching that part of the brain off and just treating the ball boys/girls as automatons.

Well, that does it - the girl obvious has no discernment or taste
But, yes, I don't mind no pleases or thank yous (in general) - and I don't care about swearing either (as long as it's at yourself, not someone else).
However, you can't help but warm towards those who are particularly nice and friendly
On a side note, it's actually one of the reasons that I have warmed to Andrew Castle - when I saw him at Surbiton last year, he was very charming to everyone - I know it's his stock in trade but - and, for instance, when he went to sit down in the stands he instantly turned round to make sure he wasn't blocking my view and offered to move up one space. It was thoughtful - most people don't and a lot of the coaches etc. are truly rude about acting as though they own the place (one male coach with a name that rhymes with Gates comes to mind, but there are many others).

You've hit the nail on the head here. I spoke to both Katie's at length at Sunderland a couple of years ago and they were genuinely lovely. It's hard when you've got to concentrate a lot.

It was the way she barked/snarled ''towel'' on a regular basis that was most noticeable. There was just no need for it.
A new career high of 179 when the points go on, and just overtakes Gabi as GB #5
Hitting really good form just at the right time

Well played again Harriet. The same guy who was working with her at Manchester was with her on the practice courts before yesterdays' match and watching from the side during her win. Whoever he is,it appears to be working well.
loving harriets work she seems a very mature almost 22 which you cant say for some of ours - not in a nasty way
dart has a nice serious profesionalism to her though eyes on the prize
