Emma gets over the line 6-4 6-3. George is in a battle with the powerful Dutch boy, losing the second set 6-4, but as in set 2 George has claimed an early break in the decider.
Aidan has a good partner in the doubles, and we are assured of representation in round 2 (plus the winners of the two matches below play each other in round 2). Jack is second on 5 and Aidan second on 9 tomorrow
Boys Doubles R1 (L32)
(WC) Anselmo/Voisin (FRA) v Boyer/Loffhagen (USA/GBR)
Draper/Hijikata (GBR/AUS) v (3) McHugh/Skatov (GBR/RUS)
Well thats an improvement in that George lost to him in two sets a couple of months back.
Emma is one of the 15 year old juniors to take Clara Taurson (they are both late 2002s) to three sets when they met in November 17 in Copenhagen. I think assuming Emma has found her feet at the venue this will be much closer than non Brits would anticipate)
Clara has travelled widely and played a lot over the last 12 months, 12 junior tournaments (including a wins at grade 1 and 2 along with a grade A final in Brazil), 6 seniors including representing Denmark in the Federation cup and a 15K win.
This compares with Emmas 6 junior tournaments (last summer at Roehampton and Wimbledon then back to back tournament wins (3 grade 3 and 1 Grade 2) and 3 senior tournaments over the last year also including a 15k win from qualifying.
My gut feeling is very similar to that after they played in 2017 ie. these are two girls who will play each other a lot over the next 15 years.

Thanks. Generally always good to see and hear from our players first hand, particularly the up and coming.
Trains with a "hitter' in Bromley but no coach at the moment. Applications ? Though arguably no coach might be better than some coaches. Choose wisely when you need to.
Emma Raducanu, age 15, JWR 55 (JCH 48) vs (5) Clara Tauson (DEN), age 15, JWR 8 (= JCH)
H2H : 0-1. Tauson won at 'home' in Copenhagen indoor hard in February 2017 2-6 6-3 6-1
Emma has a 21-0 record in juniors this year with 4 titles ( Grades 3, 2, 2 and 2 ) and in seniors in qualifying and main draw has a 13-2 record including her Israel 15K title in May. Not building her up or anything - but be interesting anyway.
It was a decent enough interview, I love what she said about her idol being Li Na and the work ethic. also the fact that she's at a normal school doing normal 15 year old things. I hope they media doesn't jump on her the way they did Robbo.
I was disappointed that they didn't mention that she'd won a 15k already in her fledgling career when they spoke about her afterwards.
