Mike dickson on twitter predicted a Queens wc today for Dan. He can't play Queens qualies anymore so it is that or se into ilkley. Dan is ready for Queens imo
Yeah. And not as though many/any others are stamping their authority on the current list of events and putting down a marker - Evo was the only Brit who even made it through R1 at Surbiton. And it's only Evo and Wardy who made it to the QFs here. I'm obviously all for Evo getting one, (as a mega fan of wildcards and a believer that the non-performance enhancing drug rules for tennis are wrong and, even if they're right, it's history now). But it's definitely meager pickings....

I have to say that I fancy Dan's chances against Granollers. Marcel hasn't done much since he won back to back challengers in Bangkok in January, not even on the dirt. He hasn't played much grass ct tennis in the last 3 years.
Dan is first up at 11.00, I'm looking forward to it!

The other thing is that its not just that hes British, hes also got a lovely game to watch. If being a big draw is a factor in getting a WC, he certainly qualifies.

Shouldn't be for a Slam IMO ( though I would now give him a Wimbledon MD one anyway for his results ) while understandable for other tournaments. Rights to the boring and unloved in the ultimate competitions!
Dan's played a lot of matches recently and of course is still going this week. While he did need to do that for match and general fitness, now in the lead up weeks to Wimbledon ( though at least hopefully now he won't have qualies for that ) I can see good arguments at this stage for quality over quantity. And for now put that build up first.
Dan needs the points. Ilkley would be the better option.
Life's too short.
Agree with Indy.
And, yes, Jonh, the only reason I had absolute faith that Dan would come back, when people were saying he was over and done with when he got the ban, is because everybody needs to eat - and Dan has a lack of real viable choices. He loves tennis - it makes him more money than anything else. And Queens will help nicely.

Totally, I've been concerned that assuming Dan is going to have to go through Wimby qualies, that he's playing too much. So too much stress mentally, and on his body as he's not tour fit yet (again physically or mentally). It would be a shame for him to get to Wimby and then have to pull out injured or not have that mental resiliance, he's one of our best hope this year.
He's much better off at Queen IMHO, and has the best chance of winning a round or two given a good wind a favorable draw.
