Well , end of day 10 and a little gap is opening with a leaderboard starting to string out

1 D. Evans 5
2 H. Dart 4
3 K. Boulter 3
4 G. Taylor 2
5 A. Ward 1
H. Watson 1
J. Konta 1
J. Ward 1
S.B. Grey 1
K. Dunne 1
K. Swan 1

Tomorrow, we have JK versus Heather, Katie Boulter, Harriet Dart and SarahBeth Grey and James Ward all playing , a chance for Harriet and Katie to come back at Dan. 21 wins so far, Nottingham proving to be a good week generally so far

Today's standings :day 11

Position Wins
1D. Evans5
 H. Dart5
3K. Boulter4
4J. Konta2
 J. Ward2
 G. Taylor2
7A. Ward1
 H. Watson1
 S.B. Grey1
 K. Dunne1
 K. Swan1

So Dan, Harriet and Katie B have a little clean air with joko and James ward joining gabi on 2. With all of those top 6 apart from gabi playing tomorrow, it feels like the end of this week will tell us where the winner of this race could come from. Only wild card left is kyle really. With 25 wins so far, that's 13 in total this week so beyond Surbiton and all in all a very strong start to the grass. 17 wins to 8 for the ladies as well.

History also tells us that 5 wins is enough for 3rd place in the overall season on grass, for GB players, so Dan and Harriet should expect 3rd place at least this season...

Dan getting the wild card into Queens and not playing Ilkley may of course harm his chances of making hay in the Challengers in this particular competition. Two more wins this week would help but with Dan facing tougher opposition next week, the chance may arise for someone to come back to him. Two more wins for Jo Konta this week and she would be very much in the race in =2nd place

And so this is the list at the end of week 2/day 14 on the grass:

1 D. Evans 7 (Queens)
2 H. Dart 5 (Ilkley)
3 K. Boulter 4 (Birmingham)
J. Konta 4 (Birmingham)
5 J. Ward 2
G. Taylor 2 (Ilkley)
7 A. Ward 1 (Ilkley)
H. Watson 1 (Birmingham)
S.B. Grey 1 (Ilkley qualies)
K. Dunne 1 (Birmingham Qualies)
K. Swan 1 (Ilkley)

29 wins is very good so far. In brackets I have put where the player is this next week. Based on quality of opponents etc, Dan , Katie B, Heather, Katy Dunne, JoKo may struggle to get many wins this week for good reasons. My feeling is that there is a chance therefore for Harriet, Gabi or Katy Swan to pick up a win or two and move towards the top of the table, with Harriet quite possibly able to eye top spot in a weeks time. Will be an interesting week ahead.
