Week 23 ITF ($100k) - Surbiton, Grass

Gabi lost the last 11 points in a row, and with it the set :(

Is Harriet's win a career best scalp (if not, I've just embarrassed myself on Twitter again LOL) - any counterexample?

Yes it's career best Steven. Her previous career best was against Risa Ozaki (JPN), then WR 121 at Wimbledon in 2016.

And Gabi has gone off the boil for whatever reason for sure. 2 BPs for Conny first game of the third set. Gabi brings it back to deuce, then DFs to hand Conny a 3rd BP, which she takes. I hope Gabi can dig in again now.. She hasn't broken Conny yet this match, but now she needs to.

Oh dear. I do hope that Ms Taylor isn't injured. Nothing to do with my grass court winners prediction.

Yes, for whatever reason, Gabi definitely ran out of steam/ energy/ full health there. Final score 7-5 4-6 1-6.

Once she lost the last 11 points of the second set there seemed to be a problem there with her. I hope that nothing a few days of rest will not sort, which I hope she will get now.

It does seem that it's poor Harriet's destiny to be upstaged by others, but that is a fantastic win.

Well Harriet looks like she's going to be the only player to win today, even though she was also the only one playing a higher ranked player - the other two playing opponents ranked near them.

As a relatively new member on here, one of the things I have noticed is how a few people are churlish in their praise towards Harriet yet all over one or two of the others like a rash.I know it's called favoritism but....
