Just to round out the week, Mimi beat Hannah in Glasgow and then played a cracker of a match against Mona Barthel, and was two points from the victory - but couldn't quite get the win.
However, a SF place is a monumental result for the girl who's just turned 16.

Mimi is doing so well. Delighted for her.

It's great to see a little group developing of girls roughly the same age who are all making good progress in the adult game and are also friends.

In week 44, the big news is that:

Mika S won in R1 at the 25k in Sunderland, beating Barthel (who retired in the second set). That should be a WTA ranking now for Mika, still age 14

Phoenix Weir and Zach Stephens have got R1 wins in Sunderland and Kuwait, respectively

Ciara Moore got a R1 win in the doubles in Sunderland

Good wins in qualis too for lots of our juniors

He's been playing quite a lot in men's tournaments, largely in Monastir. He's managed to qualify a couple of times but he's not often won many main draw matches yet.

Week 45

Special shout-out to Luca Pow

Unranked in doubles, he's now made the final of the 15k in the USA (playing alongside Tacchi, ARG)

Good luck to him

Also, Ranah Stoiber who is into the QF in singles in the 15k in Tunisia

Ranah also made the final, but both Luca and Ranah came up just short in terms of the title

Good week though.....

The big news in the rankings is that Mika now has a WTA singles ranking

1027 - Mika Stojsavljevic (born 2008)

Congratulations to Sarah Copley (2007) who now gets a doubles ranking, after picking up her third counter - WTA 1368

We now have 8 girls with an adults ranking in singles:

658 - Isa Lacy
664 - Hannah
748 - Mimi
845 - Ranah
982 - Talia
1027 - Mika
1197 - Ella
1325 - Aryana Bartlett

Three of those will pass to adults come Jan 1st (Ranah, Ella and Aryana)

And we have 12 girls with adult doubles rankings:

Ella, Given, Jaqui O, Isa, Brooke, Hannah, Gigi Hays, Sarah, Talia, Cesca Simpson, Paulina Jurkowska, Aryana

So encouraging to have all these girls coming through. Amazing to see Hannah and Mika at only 14 and Mimi at only just 16.

Aryana was playing a UTR PTT 25k+H event in Dubai last week. She won 3 and lost 3 of her matches.

Must say this transition from junior to senior fascinates me!. Did a quick review of those with WTA ranking from CD above and added in junior rankings and those who are junior ranking and haven't a senior ranking yet. You can really see the pyramid effect. Not complete but it shows the potential of Hannah which we know and Mimi but also interesting as to those who are still low in the junior rankings and a similar age - is this down to funding and opportunity or just ability? Lambda et al over to you.
