Juniors playing professional senior tennis 2018

Re rankings, congrats to young Dan who gets his first ATP ranking:

Dan Martin (age 17) ATP WR 1716

We now have 6 boys with ATP rankings (we also have 8 players age eighteen or less, as Paul Jubb and Finn Bass are still 18).

Also, a shout-out to James Story (born 2001) who breaks into the top 1000 in doubles following his success in the GB events - this week's he's +358 to 984

Congrats to Jake Hersey who gets his first ATP ranking today, at 1896

That makes 7 junior boys with ATP rankings.

And obviously a huge smile for young Jack Draper who is spearheading the lot of them, age 16 and currently ATP 573 (up 50 places this week, but ready to zoom through the 500s when his Nigerian title from this week comes on line)

This week has to be one of our best 'juniors playing adults' tennis weeks (and certainly our best of the 'no-Jack' weeks, surely?)

Both George and Aidan are into the finals of a 15k.
Emma made the semis of a 25k.

To add to which, Ali Collins got 5 points and Eliz got her first point.
Also, Olivia S-W is into the doubles final of a 15k.

(Fran the only slightly worrying mark against the week, with her retirement, although she too got a point)

Yes, really good stuff from our young crew.

And encouragingly Fran is still on the MD list for next week's Chile 60K.

Joanna Garland has a MDWC for Taipei 125k - will be interesting to see how she gets on there.

Although Taiwan have lost their only main WTA tournament, with Hua Hin in Thailand replacing it from February - you'll surely get more chances if you switch Jo...

This thread doesn't really need to be 2018.

Just to note that this week, it's going to be Friday and we still still have our top three junior boys in adult tournaments, going strong: Jack Draper (in Israel), George Loffhagen (in Thailand), Anton Matusevich (in Portugal).

Yes, really good to see George and Anton getting wins in addition to Jack.

And I've taken out 2018 from the title.

A good day today as 2002-born Felix Gill and 2001-born Finn Murgett get their first ATP ranking point, and in a 25k to boost.

Also, wins for George Loff, Jack Draper and Anton Mat.

And Emma Rad (2002 born) too.

And all in 25ks.

And Arthur Féry round off a very good day for the juniors, getting his first ATP point too.

A mixed day yesterday.

The highlight was Emma Raducanu (2002) beating third seed, Georges (FRA), currently WTA 250, and making the QFs at Roehampton.

Jack Draper (2001) won easily at the 25k in Shrewsbury.

Arthur Féry (2002) also had a great day, making the QFs in Shrewsbury too (although it's true that he 'only' beat fellow UNR junior, Felix Gill, and having won his R1 by retirement, it's been a rather fortunate run).

Of those who lost, Felix obviously, as per above. Finn Murgett too. Also, Harry Wendelken lost 4-6 in the third against a lowly ranked wildcard in the 25k in Sweden which was a real shame. And technically, the day after, George Loffhagen also lost his R2 match in Australia against a guy ranked 984.
