Week 24 - Challenger (127,000+H) - Nature Valley Open, Nottingham, Great Britain (grass)
Oscars (mid GCSE?) not altogether unsuccessful attempt at qualifying for the Nottingham Challenger hits the buffers in the shape of the world no 223; with a career high of 64 back in 2011. At 32 Kamke is twice Oscars age. Kamkes junior high was 642 Oscars high so far 319 obviously early days but what a great opportunity to play someone with such great experience in competition.
QR2: (q2) Tobias Kamke (GER) WR 223 defeated (qWC) Oscar Weightman UNR by 2 & 0

Waiting for Oakie to do it and not wanting to steal his thunder but, just in case he's been dragged away, someone has to update this with the MEGA result yesterday of Vicki.
Week 24 - ITF ($100k) - Manchester, Grass
QR1: Victoria Allen (GBR) UNR (age 17, born 2001) def. (q5) Tammi PATTERSON (AUS) 323 6-2 6-3
That's a truly brilliant result, an amazing ranking difference, and in two sets, and against a woman who's pretty decent on grass.
Congrats to Vicki !!!
Also a win for Summer:
Q1: YARDLEY, Summer (GBR) age 18 UNR def. PITAK, Katarzyna (GBR) UNR 6-4 6-3
For the others, it's all a learning process:
Q1: STAFF, Holly (GBR) age 15 UNR lost to MUELLER, Alexandra (USA) 647 CH=280 2009 6-1 6-3
Q1: MUGHAL, Zarah (GBR) age 17 WC UNR lost to HOLTUM, Louise (GBR) UNR 6-1 6-0
Q1: MCCOLGAN, Hannah age 18 (GBR) UNR lost to MESTACH, An-Sophie (BEL) 7 414 CH=98 2015 6-2 6-0
Eyes this morning, though, on Ola Pitak who lsot her first set 0-6. The rain then conveniently came and after the break she managed to just nab the second set, saving a MP in the tie-break, and winning it 9-7, AND had just taken the break in the third to lead 3-2........
There is the potential to have two juniors in the MD, Emma Radacanu WR 883 is already in deservedly getting a wildcard and will face Harriet Dart WR 198 who is in great form on the grass.
Vicki has a battle on her hands and plays off against Eden who returns from Louisiana having had an outstanding first season in college Tennis and as the reigning NCAA doubles champion as a freshman.
Q3: RICHARDSON, Eden (GBR) UNR v ALLEN, Victoria (GBR) UNR
15 year old Emma took the second set off 22 yr (apologises 21 until the end of July) old Harriet who is in the form of her life, before the later closed out. A performance worthy of a Wimbledon Qualifying wildcard? I think so.
Emilie looses out to 20 yr old Swede Linnea, Linnea has had some ITF doubles success with 3 championships in the bag including a 25k this month in Portugal but now in her second year of futures grind where her last flicker of form was back in November.
Q2 LINDH GALLAGHER, Emilie (GBR) UNR lost to MALMQVIST, Linnea (SWE) 1 878 2-6 3-6
Congrats to Nell Miller (born Feb 2000) who got her first ever WTA ranking this week.
(Although if someone could explain to me why it says she has three points and then when you click on her results, it gives three counters which add up to five points????)
