Plenty of time yet Strongbow. A couple more top 100 wins in Indian Wells and/or Miami for Katie B, to go with the Blinkova one, and she'll have to be in the conversation.

True - the glass should be half full - rather than half empty.

There are still tournaments at the lower levels in other parts of the world. Who knows, Harriet might have a good run in Mexico and challenge Sam - or Sam might just run away with it !

And, amazing thought it may seem, we do also have men players and juniors as well!
On a serious note, my view on these things is we plough on regardless, there will always be a player of the month, whether the quality in one month is as good as another will always be a "thing".
If it means that in a given month all the play is at ITF or Challenger level, then so be it, it is part of the rich tapestry and probably actually makes it quite interesting as well!
At the moment, we have two nominees, Brydan may win again this week and forge a strong case, Sam may do well as mentioned, Jack may win his low level Challenger even in South Africa, and so on and so forth. Could still be an interrsting vote at month end

Looking at this weeks singles, we seem to have the following players still in the various events going on: (I havent tried to track doubles players, being honest)
Fran Jones - W25 Olimpia R2
Jodie Burrage - W25 Cairo R2 or is it QF (as per Peter Too's comment?)
Jack Draper - Potchefstroom Challenger - Last 16
Brydan Klein - M25 Geelong - QF
Luke Johnson - M15 Heraklion - QF
Alexander Jhun - M15 Doha Last 16
Billy Harris - M15 Loule - Last 16
Jodie Burrage - W25 Cairo R2 or is it QF (as per Peter Too's comment?)
Brydan Klein - M25 Geelong - QF
Luke Johnson - M15 Heraklion - QF
Alexander Jhun - M15 Doha Last 16
Billy Harris - M15 Loule - Last 16
Toby Samuel - J2 Dominican Rep. QF
Not many left!
Anyone any thoughts on whether we continue with Player of the Month? I am quite happy to even if it just means that for March and possibly April, we are down to just ITF events without ranking points and British Tour events maybe? There is always going to be someone who is player of the month and it also means us tennis aficionados (as Greg Howe would call us) have some topic of tennis conversation to keep going?
We at least have last weeks players nominated (Sam Murray and Brydan), this week may finish off at ITF level presumably thereafter we will see it close down? And the last week in April may take place (w.c 27th) allowing at least one weeks action in April, perhaps?
But if there is a groundswell against doing it for March and April (and recognising it will be slightly less valuable than the award in February and January), then I will close it down until further notice. Will see what responses come before taking a call
