Edit. Life got in way so will post polls later as planned
Assuming it's still 10 players nominated, I'll make it 2 groups of 5, random draw but trying to keep like players apart. Eg there are 3 women, so I'll make sure they arent all in 1 group, 2 doubls only nominations so I'll separate them as well. Other than that a random draw.
Top 2 from each group, plus any ties, will go to a final.

As an aside, here is the full list of all players that have been nominated for Player of the Month in Jan (no vote just an annointing) , Feb, Mar , Jun/Jul and Aug and the number of times they have been nominated: most of our top men on the main tour have had 2 nominations, in the women, just Emily Appleton and Emma Raducanu have had 2. But the only player on 3 nominations so far this year is Billy Harris. Not sure if Bob wishes to comment on that feat ?!

I was thinking how to do player of the year awards and voting and wanted comment or feedback.
Starter for 10:
The monthly winners (max of 9 given the missing months and assining there may be some play in December, who knows), and of course we may have a duplicate winner or two.
The 6 british numbers ones ( ie atp and wta singles and doubles, and itf number ones) for gb. Max of 6 more but may be duplicates with monthly winners.
The 2 players with most monthly nominations, again avoiding duplicates.
This would give us a voting list of 10 to 16 I think.
Anyone got any alternative strongly held views or thoughts , I think this would capture anyone with a claim to player of the year though, could anyone outside the above criteria have a reasonable claim?
Sounds good to me. The only ones I might consider adding are runners-up in the monthly competitions if not otherwise already in. That would account for those who have been consistent over the period but fall through the net on the nominations count. Probably only one or two in this category anyway.

That works for me; I will keep a tally of who is in and if nothing else it should make for a robust vote!
I will need to go back to the votes to check - Joe of course was anointed in January, so no runner up that month but not a problem!
OK, jonny boy - I'm nominating Fran - coz she's an amazing plucky and determined girl, I was worried she'd rather quietly vanished from the scene - and she hasn't! Coz she's doing great (the only one to do so) in Prague at the moment.

Cool, I thought something may come like this, so pleased to put Fran up as the first in the September list:

September Player of the Month Nominations:

Interesting week so far, lots of potential in US Open for players to come through and get a nomination , singles and doubles, and both mens and womens singles. And several players still in challenger and itf action that could go on a good weeks run.
