RE: GB Player of the Month

Emma Raducanu makes the Classic final, thrashing Harriet.  Is she close to a nomination?!

I'll definitely be nominating the winner of tomorrows women's final. I think that Emma win earlier has gone a little under the radar on here, especially the manner of it, and she was absolutely fantastic, but if she doesn't win the title then, bar injury, she'll have lost twice to Jodie, and 2 of her few more realistic 'losable' matches this week. That said, if someone did want to nominate her simply on the basis of comfortably beating a top 150 player, then I'd have no complaints.

Very close.  Stick him in there.  I will nominate him.

Terrific comeback against Wardy yesterday and a totally dominant performance today.

Thanks Bob. If it stays below 7 nominations I'll keep it as one straight poll. If we get to 8 or more, which with two weeks left we should, I'll split it into semis like last month.

I think going forward I'll keep it like that, 7 or less 1 poll , anymore and it will be groups.

It's maybe more symbolic than anything else - but it's a very important symbolic moment - and actually a good win too.....

So I'd like to nominate Jay Clarke as the first GB player to get a proper, official win on the board, post COVID.

Well done, that man !

With one week left,  Mandy C going well in Portugal,  cam qualifying in the USA,  4 mens singles, 4 mens doubles, 2 womens singles , 1 womens doubles in the big Masters/premier level event playing, 4 British Tour titles, and Jay, Liam and several Brits in European action next week, will anyone get onto our list of nominees in the next week?

Lots of opportunities for players to join our nominations over the next week.

Cinci/NYC - Dan, Andy, Joe, Jamie/Neal, Jo, Heather.

Prague - Jay

Trieste - Liam, Lloyd.

ITF - I make it we have 4 in qualies and possibly Aidan in main draw.

British Tour - today's finalists and up to 32 players next weekend!

And...George Loffhagen and how he gets on in France, will he match Stuart Parker...

Maybe Evo has pushed himself into contention with today's win over a top 20 player.

So from week 3, performances of note are possibly, outside of players above already nominated

Dan Evans wins first round singles and doubles in Cinci/NYC, beating wr 14th Rublev and Peers/Venus

Andy Murray wins singles round one v Tiafoe

Jamie Murray and Neal Skupski beat top seeded Cabal/Farah in first round.

Joe Salisbury wins first round with Rajeev Ram

Amanda Carreras reaches the semis in W15 Portugal, beating top seed in the process

Arthur Fery wins British Tour (womens won by Lily Miyazaki of Japan) Elite Return Week 5

Oscar Weightman wins a round of qualies in M25 Poznan.

George Loffhagen producing wins of note in UTR event in France (no idea of location or where he stands in the event, Stuart Parker in same event it seems).

All of these are still in apart from Amanda C, plus we have Jo Konta in WTA singles, Heather Watson in WTA doubles,  Liam Broady, Lloyd Glasspool (and Jay Clarke, already nominated) , in Challenger action,  Aidan McHugh in ITF, plus Week 6 British Tour action.

If anyone feels there are any further nominees from above that they want to propose , or anyone I've missed, please shout (or anyone to comment on pending the final coming week of the month !).

Last week's tournament took place in Biarritz.  No idea about previous weeks.

Thanks SC....any idea if it's an actual tournament with a league table or rounds, or just a series of random matches?

 Actually found this.

https://www.imgarena.com/content/pro-series-2020#euro

Looks like all the events over world are well organised but not sure there is a formal tournament at each one, ie a winner each week.

Seems they are aimed at players ranked 650 and above, not sure Stuart Parker achieves that but hes had plenty of action nonetheless
