Now go on and take it all, Dick, I mean Liam.

Got to feel good about that. Is anyone watching the play? Scores to date suggest a court playing a little quicker than IW last week (more of the fast court experts , if there is such a thing, seem to be winning than clay courters and Liam might prove to be an addition to that), is that correct in actual fact?

General stats quite firmly in Frat's favour with many more points played on Liam's serve and Liam managing a break with only 8 return points won in the set.

But TB it is. Go steal it ...

Beauty of the tennis scoring system! And he wins it 7-5 as well! Go Liam!

Oh, don't get me wrong, I just love the tennis scoring system. And a lot to be said for getting through these service games and getting these games on the board. It's about games and sets and ultimately winning the last point.

Trouble is, no matter how fast the court is, it wouldn't seem that fast with Liam and Frat compared with Fed and Delpo smile

Honestly, can't really tell, sorry.

Indian Wells is traditionally considered very slow and some players have taken a distinct aversion to the courts there but yes may have magically speeded up with Fed and Delph

Miami considered a fair bit quicker though the point has been made that the weather can slow the ball down.

Think Cincy is the real North American Masters speedy one.

Simple hold each, now 2-2 (for anyone who is following this on the site tomorrow morning)

Liam gets to 15-40 with great down the line winner which hits the baseline. Overcooks a return on first break point but then takes the second with another dtl winner for *3-2. Now consolidate the break please, Liam

Phew!

LB gets 3 cheap points with unreturned serves for 40-30 (2 on 2nd serves) a lob gets Frat back to Deuce, but another 2nd serve return goes long for Ad LB, and a poor shot into the net from BF seals the hold 4-2 :)

No trouble to Dick, he's been in tighter spots than that.

4-2*

Its a very slow court.

Its also a terrible match.

But come on Liam!

Have to say its fairly error strewn stuff at the moment. Liam makes 2 ues to go 15-30 down but BJ returns the compliment and then two wild service returns give Liam the hold for 5-3.

It looks a little windy out there, and think its a big game for both of them and its showing, bit nervy and ropey. But Liam now just 1 game from the 2nd round.
