Weeks 12 & 13 - ATP Masters 1000 - Miami Open, FL (hard)

South Americans seem to do well in miami, guess they get good support and like the conditions. Rios was a famous Chilean winner there a decade or so back.

Norrie doesn't look like he is ready to play at this level yet. Harry was a class above.

Liam on the other hand has a great chance. Frantangelo is just a safe baseliner.

Cam's Davis Cup performances suggested otherwise. It will still be tough for a while and he has probably to be very close to his best but the game is there.

General stats quite firmly in Frat's favour with many more points played on Liam's serve and Liam managing a break with only 8 return points won in the set.

But TB it is. Go steal it ...

At least Dick Turpin wore a mask.

7-6(5)

Now go on and take it all, Dick, I mean Liam.

Beauty of the tennis scoring system! And he wins it 7-5 as well! Go Liam!

I thought that was very close, whatever the stats said. Liam had an early lead. Frat got back into it. Tie-break was close. The whole thing was by a whisker. Because although as paulisi says Frat is just a safe baseliner, the US forum will be saying exactly the same about Liam.
Let's hope he can keep it going....
