Hev and Jo it is.

Right choice I think. We're so close.

No deuce deciding point. Not sure if that's advantage for us or not.

It's all feeling a bit like that tie in Argentina...

Team GB not doing a very good job of including Gabi so far today, she's been standing looking a bit lost and left out at the end of one of the lines of the GB cheer squads whilst the other senior members all are seated with other people.

Agree - throughout it's not been looking very inclusive for Gabi - really feel for her.

Easy to say in retrospect, but if there was virtually no chance Gabi was going to play they should have taken someone who has been part of the group before like Boulter or Swan

And that's a real pity for Gabi, especially as she will hardly even smell what the match court looks like, ditto Anna, in that respect. As said yesterday, I would still have used Gabi in the last singles, and then have Heather in the doubles, if necessary, one hopes in a more positive mindset. Somehow, playing Heather in the doubles as 'reward' for two singles losses doesn't send the right signals to anyone and nor necessarily puts Heather in the right mindset. Let's hope they win, but I congratulate Japan on having the courage to use all four of their players in the tie, whilst we have failed to integrate our squad even off the court. Which is a pity because in a year Gabi will be ranked ahead of Heather.

Is the man in the hat out there? Saw a likely suspect on the coverage.

Isn't it the opposite? If you know someone is not going to be needed, you offer it out to someone else, so the net goes wider and more people feel part of the team, and get experience of the atmosphere, so you've got more picks when you actually need them?

It's good to bring Gabi into the group just to get a feel for how she fits with the rest of the team, if she continues to improve at her present rate she definitely be an option. When a player has done as well as Gabi recently it is important to recognise it.

Assuming she does feel included and it is a positive experience

The line calling has not been of a terribly high quality throughout the tie.
