*5-3 Big serve
6-3* UE from Nara when in charge of the rally

Nara is like a metronome, and always looked more like taking a tiebreak. Heather however got the balance right to go up 6-3*, Nara played two good points, but Heather then double faulted, and fell apart.

6-7(7) 0-0*

Sadly, I think that's that. Confidence is in tatters.

6-7* Heather went long on a fairly routine ball of an unfearsome Nara return SP against...
7-7* Nara up to net... Hev finds a pass that dips to Anara's feet, and it's not dug out, Phew!
*7-8 good rally, Nara changed pace, Hev had the chance to put it away, but went long JPN SP #2
6-7(7)

Nara firing up the crowd.

At this juncture, the irony is not lost on me that, having just won a WTA doubles title, Naomi is about to take court in a second consecutive doubles final.
She should be here.

Nara holds, then breaks to love, visibly growing in confidence and positivity; the contrast in body language between the two is light years wide; very ominous...
6-7(7) 0-2*

The problem is I'm not sure where the turnaround comes for Hev. She's always able to create the opportunity, she just can't close.

That double at *6-5 was always coming

Nara served for it, a bit tense, Hev played a bit of good stuff, broke.
Still needs to hold - big ask.
6-7(7) *4-5

Has to be Watson/Konta I think.

Hev was bang average but she's a different personality on the doubles court

Just gutted for Heather to be honest, she always gives it her all in Fed Cup. Will be interesting to see who Anne picks for doubles. With how Heather served I would be hesitant to pick her, even though shes a great doubles player. Japan have to be favourites in the doubles anyway.
